Empowering Education & Communities: Citius Enables VSAT Internet Access in West Kalimantan
The digital revolution continues to shape the modern world, yet many remote and underserved communities still lack access to stable internet connectivity. Citius, as a trusted technology solutions provider, played a crucial role in the VSAT Internet Access Installation Project, a nationwide initiative to enhance internet accessibility across Indonesia.
The VSAT Internet Access Installation Project was launched by the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology through its implementing body, Badan Aksesibilitas Telekomunikasi dan Informatika (BAKTI). The initiative aimed to provide internet access to 90 educational and community institutions, including elementary schools, kindergartens, Islamic boarding schools, and village offices, across West Kalimantan. Running from November 14, 2024, to January 17, 2025, the project brought together key stakeholders, including Kominfo, BAKTI, XL Axiata as the service provider and project manager, PT BIS Data Indonesia as the O/M network operator, Alita as the main contractor, and Citius as the installation partner. The project focused on the installation and activation of VSAT-based internet access across various locations.
As a key implementation partner, Citius was responsible for the installation, integration, and testing of VSAT internet services at multiple sites. The process involved site preparation, equipment installation, and network integration to ensure stable connectivity. The team set up VSAT terminals, installed antennas, and configured network infrastructure. Following the setup, they conducted EsNO validation and CPI testing, configured AirMac modems, and performed local internet and bandwidth speed tests to verify the system’s performance. The project also ensured compliance with Minimum Operational and Maintenance Standards for HUB SATRIA-1, confirming that all installations were seamlessly integrated into the satellite network and met operational requirements.
By successfully deploying VSAT-based connectivity, this project empowers local communities by enhancing education, supporting community development, and bridging the digital divide. Schools can now access digital learning resources, village offices and religious institutions benefit from improved communication and administrative efficiency, and rural areas gain reliable internet access to foster social and economic growth.
Citius remains committed to advancing digital connectivity solutions across Indonesia. Through strategic partnerships and cutting-edge technology, the company continues to support initiatives that drive digital transformation in underserved regions. Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing projects and innovations in telecommunications and IT services.
